April 2008 Hello classmates. Sorry I have not been updating the website as often as I promised but have had a pretty rough time of it this month. I had to have back surgery last month and have been down for a while. I am recovering well and back on my feet. Trying to get out and walk a mile each day. Should be able to get back to work in a few weeks. Enough about me. I would like to hear from you guys. I have only had two classmates send me informaiton this April. Hopefully with your help we can start doing better. Let me know if you have ideas we could impliment easily. I always can use help. I will have some time this month and I can work on the site if need be. Some good news for me is that my 4 year old grandson is coming from California to stay with his Nana and Papaw for a few weeks. You guys take care and call / write anytime. I really enjoy this "job". Greg

February 2008 I have changed the 35th reunion photos so that they load much faster. Also it is easier to go to a particular photo. I have emailed everyone on the '69 address list asking each of you to please find our classmates. In order to have a great reunion in 2009 we must start now. Have them fill out the contact information form. Send me recent picture if you want it to be included in the Classmates Yearbook. Email to webmaster@orhs69.com January 2008 It has been a good month for our website. We are almost complete, only a few more enhancements are planned. These should be complete by February. (Older News) September 15, 2004 The 35th reunion was held August 27th and 28th 2004 at the Oak Ridge Elks Lodge. It was deemed a success by most counts. Although the reunion committee started preparation very late, we had a good turnout. We had approx. 90 people in attendance on Friday evening and over 100 on Saturday. I would like to take time to address one concern that a couple of our classmates stated. The concern is that: "Why were you not able to find me? I have lived at ..... for the past several years. You had my address once, how come I was not notified?" I want all of our classmates to know that we did do the best we could at finding classmates. This is a very tough task. We only had 5-7 people working on the committee and had some family emergencies during the last month of preparation. This is not an excuse because we certainly would like to have everyone attend the reunion. Our best record keeping sometimes gets in dismay even though try as we may, THINGS happen beyond our control. It is a best effort and we always know that we are going to leave someone out, but not intentionally. One of our classmates actually called up several members of the committee and was rather rude as to why they were not found. We have had talk that some committee members may not want to participate next time because of this type of comment. You must know that this work is done for $0 pay. Dedication and hard work by many members of the committee is what made the reunion possible to start with. I, for one, put many of my own dollars into keeping the website up and running for the past five years. We all tried to do as good of a job as possible under the circumstances. "Finding people" is a two way street. You can always come here and find the latest information about reunions and update your personal information. I want everyone to know that there were only a very few that had and problems with the reunion as most comments were very positive, some stating that it was the best reunion we have ever had. I personaly had one of the best times. One other note. Any time you need any information about upcomming reunions, purchasing of Class Directories, DVD's or any other questions or comments please let me know. Send any comments to Greg Bell I will publish any comments you have here if you wish. - Greg Bell ORHS '69 Home | 35th Class Reunion | Contact Us | Photo Gallery| Letters| Guest Book ORHS Class of '69 Web Site © 2007 All Rights Reserved |
